Duties

The SC Director role is a statutory appointment as a director on the board of Sealed Air (Pty) Ltd and Sealed Air Holdings. The board comprises 3 directors (ie Sales Director, Finance Director and Supply Chain Director). The Supply Chain Director role is also the local Business Lead. I have planned coordinated and lead audits and assessments of various companies against the requirements of the ISO standards, specifically the ISO 14000 series. These audits and assessments were conducted in the following sectors/industries:

Manufacturing: Senior Supervisor From 1991-5 To 1995-8

I was responsible for the operational functions pertaining to the cooling, creaming and packaging of the final product. The products were the ranges of biscuits, wafers and crackers, which sold under the brands of Bakers, Pyotts and Baumanns.

Duties
I was responsible for all aspects pertaining to the operations at the Brookes Lemos division. The activities included the processing and packaging of fruit based and imitation beverages (squashes and cordials).

I was integrally involved in the planning, relocation and commissioning of the in-house bottling plant.


I was responsible for the quality control functions of the Brookes Lemos range of products (which included the brands Oros, Lemos, Esto, etc). The quality control functions included various types of analysis and evaluations. I developed test procedures, and was involved in trouble-shooting, batch corrections, final approval and release. The tests were conducted on raw and packaging materials, in-process and final product.

I was initially based at a sub-contractor’s premises where I had to set up proper testing procedures, documentation and a laboratory environment.
