Waste Management Service:Electromechanical Technician From 2018-12 To Current
  • Responsible for mechanical, instrumentation, electrical engineering and maintenance issues of the whole biogas plant;
  • Adherence and adoption of policies and practices and standard work instructions of the Company;
  • Proactively identify and implement improvements to operational machinery and resource efficiencies whilst giving consideration to the impact on other departments;
  • Installing, troubleshooting and repairing switchboard control panels and components, motor circuits, building and lighting circuits and control circuits;
  • Perform preventive maintenance on medium and high voltage electrical equipment such as switchgear, breakers, etc;
  • Ensure all plant components are in good condition – pumps, mixers, agitators, cooling system and water reticulation, fans, chillers, compressors, macerator, grabber, fans, measurement instrumentation, and any other systems that are vital to plant operations;
  • Accesses and monitors PLCs for machine diagnosis and repair as well as minor adjustments;
  • Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams and technical orders to determine method and sequence of assembly;
  • Prepare monthly reports with statistics such as top ten failures based on costs, job cards closed vs open, inventory usage, consumables consumption, downtime and man hours then further use the reliability statistics to evaluate areas of improvement;
  • Fault analysis on all plant equipment, including root cause analysis to establish cause of equipment failure;
  • MV and HV switching once qualified;
  • Repair, rework, or calibrate hydraulic or pneumatic assemblies or systems to meet operational specifications or tolerances;
  • Verify part dimensions or clearances to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments;
  • Responsible for optimizing energy generation within the design parameters of the biogas plant and to ensure maximum power generation;
  • Install electrical or electronic parts and hardware in housings or assemblies, using soldering equipment and hand tools;
  • Maintain equipment, parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies, placing and expediting orders and verifying receipt;
  • Maintain efficient and accurate records on operations and activities, prepare a variety of reports on data, generate records of repairs and maintenance as necessary, submit all reports timeously;
  • Test performance of electrical, electronic, mechanical, or integrated systems or equipment;
  • Safely and efficiently troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment including but not limited to logical diagnosis of problems, identification of defective components, the disassembly of equipment, replacement of defective components and the reassembly and start-up of machinery and equipment;
  • Ensure operation of machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on electrical & mechanical equipment, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications and troubleshooting malfunctions;
  • Repair, rework, and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies and systems to meet operational specifications and tolerances;
  • Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs, trains others as required;
  • Recommend and assist with equipment purchases by researching cost, availability and other factors;
  • Prepare time, material, work order and equipment use records;
  • Implement routine PM checks including vibration and temperature inspections on designated rotating equipment and ensuring logging or recording of all readings, includes preliminary assessment and reporting on as found conditions;
  • Ensure work is compliant to all standards in accordance with sound engineering practices, both on-site and in contractors’ workshops;
  • Reading of P&ID’s, Technical Literature and Equipment Manuals;
  • Ensure that safe work practices as per OHS Act are understood, implemented and consistent throughout the plant;
  • Available to work after-hours, for standby duties and be available to respond to call-outs should the need arise including on weekends and public holidays;
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with policies and procedures, rules and regulations;  
  • Management of plant operators, front end loader drivers and plant assistants, in collaboration with the other senior managers on the preventive and predictive maintenance checks and servicing of equipment by implementing maintenance schedules.

Mining:Head Of Department Technical From 2017-02 To 2018-11
  • As a Head of department during the building of a Gold process plant I had two qualified artisan reporting under me, a boiler maker and Electrician.
  • Both artisan had three apprentice reporting to them.
  • The project/contract was to build help the metallurgies to commission a gold processing plant which deliver 750 tons per hour of ore with precious metals.


Day to day duties are as follow:

  • Civil work for plant for plant lay out
  • Installation of Crusher plant
  • Installation of feed and transfer conveyers
  • Feed bins, hoppers and director chutes
  • Installation of mills 500 ton/h grate discharge ball mill and a 250 tons/h over flow ball mill
  • Installation of classifiers with a screen, spiral circuit and shaking table
  • Building of two 6 cell floatation cell with specification from a floatation designer specialist
  • Installation of centrifugal, submersible pump
  • Installation of motor and cable equipment’s listed above
  • Installation of motor gearbox, V-belt, chain drive and couplings
  • Installation of CCTV monitoring the plant
  • Wiring of motor control starters DOL, Start delta and VSDs
  • Fitting of bearings spec by equipment designers
  • Preventative maintenance of diesel generator 187kva and 750kva Gen-set
  • Preventative maintenance of air compressor
  • Equipment’s which were bought second hand had been restore with new parts
  • All the above mentioned day to day duties as a HOD department had to submit a daily report of the work progress to the MD of the of Manvin Gold.
  • The plant has been completed, commissioned and is being running from 21st May 2018 operating 8 hour of Crushing, milling and classifier circuit with the shaking table concentrate material been leach to final product.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities (include the following, however, other duties may apply:

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
