Duties

Recruitment & Selection and Appointments & Transfers

  • Provide advice, guidance and empower management and employees on HR framework
  • Facilitate and implement the recruitment, selection and placement process which include but not limited to, advertising vacant positions, screening Cvs, short listing and conducting interviews
  • Liaise with HR service providers in the sourcing and delivery of standard services and managing their contracts
  • Ensure that recruitment process is followed in accordance with recruitment guidelines and processes
  • Prepare recruitment plan together with a service level agreement to the line management and ensure 100% adherence
  • Ensure that all appointments are in line with targets set in the Equity Plan

Leave Administration and Management

  • Ensure that data is maintained correctly and to streamline and automate all HR functions
  • Ensure 100% compliance to the leave policy
  • Advice staff on leave related matters
  • Observe sick leave trends and provide recommendations

 

Remuneration and Benefits

  • Ensure consistency in remuneration of staff
  • Analyse remuneration tendencies and make recommendations of salary amendments where required
  • Ensure that all remuneration/benefit/ reward changes are effected accurately and in line agreement. 
  • Assist in coordinate long service awards  
  • Attend to all employee benefits queries and refer them to head office.

 

Employee Relations

  • Advice staff and management on employee relations matters to ensure compliance with labour legislation
  • Represent the Human Resources Department in disciplinary cases
  • Represent the employer at the CCMA & Road Freight National Council
  • Report on the disciplinary cases or processes to the HR Management team;
  • Ensure that HR Policy and procedures are followed
  • Prepare report on a monthly basis
  • Provide procedural advice related to grievances and disciplinary actions to staff

Terminations / Resignations / Retirements

  • Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for resignations and prepare exit trends report

  • Pro-actively engage and advice line departments on learning and development matters (Staff development)

Employment Relations and  Industrial Relations

  • Organise and attends disciplinary hearings
