We are looking for an experienced Actuary to join our dynamic and growing team within the insurance industry . Purpose: SAM Returns: Quarterly and annual submission of SAM returns to the FSB, which involves calculating capital requirements, engaging with asset managers and various stakeholders for the completion of the returns. ORSA: Modelling of business projections, stress testing and scenarios analysis, compilation of report and board engagement. Building and formally present reports by monitoring business performance within the set risk appetite and through analysis. Data reconciliation, calculation of reserves, FSB engagement, Exco and Board reporting, engaging on ALM strategy. Analysis of the Market Risk Calculations, Life and Non-Life Underwriting Risk Calculation and Risk Capital Model results. Candidate Requirements Minimum Requirements: BSc Degrees (strong academic records) 3 to 5 years’ experience in an Actuarial role in an insurance company; Ideal candidate should have all CT exams; SAM experience; Understanding of business and financial implications of technical analysis. Skills and Competencies This role requires an individual with strong communication across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders; Strong professional presence, interacting effectively with management teams; Excellent problem solving, understanding of complex or technical concepts, judgment and analytical abilities, draw conclusions and make recommendations; Ability to work under pressure effectively; Candidate needs to be comfortable working with Excel and PowerPoint High level of numerical ability Knowledge of the Reinsurance industry is advantageous Knowledge of the insurance or financial services industry Ability to write in a professional manner Responsibilities Analysing and assessing reinsurance treaties, using a range of actuarial, statistical and accounting principles; Provide administrative support ensuring our service levels remain high; Work independently on research projects throughout the year; Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders by communication and by travelling on market visits and to reinsurance conferences; This role requires strong technical ability together with interpersonal skill and the ability to market Reinsurance.
