PurposeThe purpose of the role is to build and continuously develop an efficient customer-focused HR administration and processing services function. The role supports the smooth and efficient running of the business and enables the fulfillment of the Company EVP – “A Place of Opportunities”. Qualification Requirements Payroll / HR Degree (or equivalent). Knowledge & Experience Payroll management principles, policies and practises Employment law and regulations, e.g. Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Acts, Skills Development Act, etc. Payroll controls and income tax laws MEIBC Main Agreement knowledge and application Financial controls and disciplines HR and payroll systems (preferably Accsys) and reporting Competencies Manage SELF Accuracy Attention to Detail Energetic Initiative and accountability Competencies Manage OTHERS Delegating responsibility and monitoring outputs Leadership and performance management Communicating, listening to and motivating staff Verbal communication Written communication Competencies Manage the WORK Analytical thinking Relationship building Information sharing Results- and Deadline-oriented Responsibilities Functions & Tasks Payroll and HR Administration ManagementTime & attendance - Manage complete process and all related systems and administrative procedures and record keeping. Wage processing Manage complete process and all related systems and administrative procedures and record keeping, with oversight/guidance from finance and internal audit Manage pay levels in accordance with the Metal and Engineering Industries Bargaining Council (MEIBC) schedules governed by the main agreement and its related pay and benefit arrangements, and manage associated administrative functions and record keeping requirements. Salary processing - Manage complete process and all related systems and administrative procedures and record keeping, with oversight/guidance from finance and internal audit. HR service management – Record, track and improve HR performance data and trends. HR systems & technologies - Design, define, manage and optimise all HR management and administrative processes and systems, to improve the manager and employee experience whilst reducing operating costs and administrative overheads. HR Administration & processing Define record keeping requirements Record-keeping & reporting, Record, maintain, and retrieve employee-related information for a variety of purposes, e.g. employee files, medical records, and other statutory requirements Manage and update organisational structures and related documentation and systems. Recruitment & selection Manage the complete recruitment and selection process, including recruitment requests, job advertising, screening, short-listing, selection, offer, post-placement review, etc. Orientation & induction, including implementing and overall company business unit and departmental orientation and induction processes, managing associated administrative functions and record keeping requirements PPE & apparel issue & management - Manage complete process and all related systems and administrative procedures and record keeping. Employee engagement & communication - Manage and improve company communication and engagement platforms, channels and processes, including Izwi Lethu, company intranet, company notices, electronic notice boards, notice boards, posters and notices, etc. Employee health & wellness Managing all health and wellness service providers, processes and activities. OHS administration and all related administrative procedures and record keeping. Demonstrate leadership and commitment to Company’s core values Maintain healthy and productive working relationships with all departments (and individuals within the departments) across the organisation Live the company values and core behaviours. Ensure work / services are delivered to customers is of a high standard and that quality assurance processes are consistently applied.
